The Wiz is a 1975 Broadway musical adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.  The Wiz ran for four years and over 1600 performances on Broadway, and won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.  The characters "Ease on Down the Road" as they sing and dance down the Yellow Brick Road.  Dorothy (Adrian Pruett) is blown by a tornado into the Land of Oz where she meets the Scarecrow (Sam Spetalnick), the Tinman (Alex Wechsler) , and the Cowardly Lion (Hunter Smith). They set off to see the Wizard (Brandon Payne), guided on their journey by the Wicked Witch (Ariel Jones) and good witches Chole Nichols and Mary Ellen Klein.
